She has made a wide variety of documentaries for national and inter-national broadcasters, including I Am Breathing (2012), which won the Scottish BAFTA for Best Director and was screened in over 50 coun-tries. She teaches a postgraduate course in documentary directing at the Edinburgh College of Art. She used to programme documentaries for the Edinburgh International Film Festival, and has served on many juries for festivals including IDFA and Visions du Réel, among others.

He co-curated the VUFKU: Lost & Found (2019) and Cry! Call! Burn! (2020) exhibitions at Dovzhenko Centre’s Film Museum, as well as numerous film screenings at the Odesa International Film Festival, the Molodist International Film Festival in Kyiv, the 86 International Film and Urbanism Festival, the Docudays UA International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival and others. He co-compiled the publications Film Revision of Donbas (2017, 2018), (In)visible Chornobyl (2017), The Anthology of Ukrainian Film Criticism of the 1920s (2018-2021).

DOCU/CLASS programme event

The programme includes creative conversations with filmmakers, film critics, curators and researchers. They will share their experiences and approaches to editing in creative documentary filmmaking, talk about the phenomenon of vernacular cinema, about how storytelling can create a platform for dialogue, and how documentaries can become a sociopolitical tool.
