Instead of going to school and hanging out with friends, 12-year-old Palestinian girls become ‘terrorists’.
In summer 2019, the filmmaker Mahdi Fleifel returned to the Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp in Lebanon. He came to visit his friend Red, the protagonist of his previous film, A Man Returned, which won the Silver Bear at Berlinale. While Mahdi is at the camp, thousands of Palestinians start marching in the streets in protest against discrimination by the government. The filmmaker offers the audience a sociological contemplation of the paths chosen by young Palestinians to survive in refugee camps.
