Famous dissident artist Ai Weiwei investigates a tragedy that occurred to the college students in Mexico and its impact on lives of the victims’ families.
After long years of exile in Cuba, Yira returns to her homeland, Colombia, where her mother lives. The peace treaty between FARC rebels and the Colombian government has put an end to the civil war that lasted for decades. In the wake of this event, Yira and her mother Ruby are trying to find their own path to reconciliation. The daughter seeks to regain the family she lost due to different political beliefs, and to take her mother with her. But Ruby has dedicated her life to fighting for human rights amid a horrible situation in the country. The protagonists face a choice: homeland or family?
