Palliative care is guaranteed at the legislative level: seriously ill patients must be prescribed painkillers. At the same time, the issue of the effectiveness of pain relief methods is being raised in Ukraine; in particular there is a debate around the legalisation of medical cannabis, which could relieve the pain of people with cancer or epilepsy, for instance. But are human rights really respected in palliative care? How is the right to choose your treatment methods implemented in reality?

RIGHTS NOW! programme discussion
