A former anti-Soviet activist, today a monk living among the people, and also an artist, Anatoliy lives in an ancient stone tower in the centre of Tallinn. Every day, he prays for nature and creates handmade books. Since the beginning of the war in the east of Ukraine, Anatoliy has been bringing humanitarian aid to the Donbas regularly. He also collects kind stories from the war, because he promised to find something good every day. He is accompanied on his volunteer mission by a small wooden horse, who becomes the protagonist of the tales from the frontline.
Each of the five films in the DOCU/UKRAINE competition programme becomes available for watching after an online live stream of a Tête-à-tête with the film’s director.
