A fairy once visited an old man and an old lady. She was prepared to grant any wish, but on the condition that their neighbour would get twice as much as the old man wanted. The old man did not like the condition. He hesitated for a long time and could not choose between happiness for his own house or disaster for his neighbour. So the right to make a wish was passed on to the old lady.
