When Marc Isaacs was told that funding can be found only if you make films about sex, crime and celebrities, he chose a different way. The filmmaker starts filming the people around him: two English construction workers knocking down the fence between his house and the house of his Pakistani neighbour, and a homeless Slovak man and a Colombian cleaning worker who fall in love. The lives of all the characters are intertwined within the same house, which challenges the ideas about boundaries and hospitality for each of them.

Film of the DOCU/ART programme

The audience is offered four films which examine the nature of art and its necessity in human life. Together with the filmmakers, we will be looking for answers to the questions of what art is and whether this luxury is ‘allowed’ in the time of the pandemic crisis.
