Russia has been trying to destroy Ukrainian statehood for centuries. Russia’s ongoing open armed aggression against Ukraine has revealed the imperfection of the existing model of global security. While political discussions about the new security model for the world go on, Ukraine continues to fight for its statehood, losing human lives and its territories.

This is the price Ukraine pays to disrupt Russia’s invasion plans for other countries and to give the rest of the civilised world time to reinforce their own defence capacity and to look for solutions.

What historic lessons must Ukraine and the world learn to prevent the aggression from repeating? How can our country fully integrate in the global security model?
